Update!!

We have some exciting news to share!  After many prayers and much discussion we have decided to follow the calling that God has planted deep in my heart and move forward and file for our 501(c)3 status.  We are in the very beginning stages of the paperwork and from what I hear the process takes almost a full year to complete.

God is taking our family back to Ethiopia this summer and we are beyond thrilled.  We will be traveling with open hearts and open minds and allow God to guide and direct where we will be working. This trip we will be meeting with other NGO's currently working in Ethiopia with hopes to partner with them since all of our work will be done from the United States.  I have been in contact with many NGO's and there is one that I am most interested in visiting -- an NGO working in the Sidama region.  This particular region holds a special place in our hearts.  There is a little village in this area where Mussie was born and it is our desire to focus on the needs near his birth home.   

We will be doing some fundraising this summer while we wait for our upcoming trip so when we get home we'll have a good start and then be able to dive in and have a specific goal to work towards.  We have been brainstorming different fundraising ideas, meeting with a few companies, creating a website, and working on our paperwork to become a non-profit.

While in Ethiopia we will be visiting the El Shadai kids. If anyone has any used school supplies or any other item (craft items, books, games) I'd be happy to pick them up and deliver it to the children.

 

We are so grateful to have such amazing family and friends who have been praying for us and supporting us and believe in our mission to care for suffering children and their families.

 

We are looking forward to this new journey and can't wait to see how God is going to use Everlasting Joy For Ethiopia to lift the poor and needy from living in these desperate conditions.
